The Three Kings Procession in Prague

The Three Kings Procession in Prague

When the Three Kings Procession will start – The 18th Three Kings Procession, held on Epiphany Eve which takes place one day before the Three Kings Day, will set off at 3:30 p.m. from the Archbishop’s Palace in Hradčanská Square.

Prague Cardinal Dominik Duka

Prague Archbishop, Cardinal Dominik Duka OP, will bless this traditional procession from the balcony of the Archbishop’s Palace. The procession will go along Loretánská Street where it will meet King Herod and the procession will continue its way to the Holy Family in Loretánská Square. The Three Kings will bow before Baby Jesus and they will give him their gifts: myrrh, gold, and frankincense. The wonderful attractions for kids are live camels that will be part of the procession.
Presents are important

Finally, children will be able to come closer to the Three Kings and the little Jesus, greet them and also give him their presents at the crib. The following day, on 6th January, the Three Kings will take the presents to children who are sick in the children’s clinic which were chosen in advance. As a gift, children can bring what can be useful for other children, for example children’s books, colouring books, papers, pens, pens, diaries. However, soft toys are not very welcome. These presents which were donated by other children will certainly please both little and bigger children.
Contribution to the Three Kings Collection

Charita organizes and supports the Three Kings Collection to help people in need. Carolling started on 2nd January and will last until January 14th. On 5th January, the carollers will be blessed by Prague Archbishop, Cardinal Dominik Duka, at a Three Kings’ service starting at 2:45 p.m. in St. Vitus Cathedral.
